1.About
mcW4 was originally made to
help me with one of my skins (Download it
@ Winamp, look for LichtenStein).
I got tired of constantly creating Batch files or waiting for
Editplus to
compile my scripts.
2. a Small
Description
Before you can use mcW4, you have to
configure it.
2.1. Output Messages
These are the messages mcW4 sends if an error occurs while compiling or
if a script compiles successfully. There are 3
options:
-Show PopUp: This will show a MSN
style popup
-Open Output: This will open
the output file in your custom editor
-Do Nothing: if you select this,
mcW4 will show no
output message after it completed its task.
2.2. Program Locations
mcW4 needs two extern application to work correctly.
-An Editor: Select the editor
in which you want to open the output
or Edit Maki Files.
-Mc.exe location: This is the
most important part. mcW4 send the command line
to mc.exe and captures its output. You can't
compile maki scripts if you don't
have mc.exe. Look for it in the Winamp directory.
It should be in the same folder as Studio.exe
3. How to use
mcW4
there are two ways to use mcW4.
1.Batch Files.
You can create Batch files to compile you Maki
Script.
Open Notepad and write something like this:
C:\program files\mcW4\mcW4.exe C:\program
files\winamp3\skins\LichtenStein\scripts\drawer.m
The first part is the location
of mcW4 and the second
part is the location of your Maki File.
Save this file with the extension
.bat. (I've included test.bat as an example
)
2.EditPlus
I use EditPlus to edit
and Compile my Maki files.
Editplus has an option that allows you to add user tools.
Click Add Tool, choose Program
and Configure mcW4 like in the picture below.
(Change Command to the location where mcW4
is located)
Note: There may be other
editors that have the same option, but so far I've
only tested Editplus.
4.Features
After mcW4 compiles a maki script successfully,
it Reloads Winamp. (It looks for a window
called Normal or Shade).
You can disable this by holding down the CTR
button while compiling.
You can also reload Winamp by using mcW4.
I added this feature because when you execute
a user tool in EditPlus, it automatically saves
all open files. I usually do this when I'm editing XML
files.
